(1) Results of a contest at Saddleworth, 23rd and 24th August 1875. (Daresbury and Chapel-en-le-Frith are mentioned.) (Torn.) (2) Invitation from Christ Church Burbage, Buxton to ringers to take part in a contest (according to United Counties Association rules) at Burbage on 21st September 1889. James Platt’s Crown Bob
a. The full 720 of Crown Bob in nine methods composed by James Platt of Saddleworth Fold, and copied out by James Wilde of Hyde (1833-78; father of James S. Wilde, and grandfather of Thomas Wilde). This was probably written out in the 1870s. b. A photocopy of a. c. The calling of the 720 and half-leads of some of the methods written by Rev. A.T. Beeston; 1914+. d. A photocopy of c. e. A letter from John P. Fidler of Stockport to Tom Wilde; 1923. f. The cutting of the letter by Tom Wilde about the 720 printed in the Ringing World in 1923. g. A cutting of Cyril Wratten’s article about James Platt and Crown Bob, which appeared in the Ringing World in 1969. h. A letter by C. K.
