I am deeply saddened to report the death of Roger Newton of Bidston, Wirral on 30th March 2009, this following a 5 year battle with cancer.

The funeral will take place on Wednesday 8th April with a Service of Thanksgiving at St Oswald's, Bidston at 1:00 p.m.

Roger, who was 65 at the time of his death, learned to ring in Bristol in the 1950's resuming, after a break of 47 years, at Bidston in 2005. He was elected Tower Captain the following year, a position he held until just a few weeks before his untimely death.
